Miranda Holmes is an artist whose work grapples with parsing capitalist values from ideas around female empowerment. Her paintings and drawing installations maintain female figures in hyper visibility as they stretch and contort themselves across the picture plane. Miranda attended the Yale Summer School of Music and Art in 2016 and received her BFA from the Pennsylvania State University the following year. With the support of a Fulbright Student Award in Research, Miranda moved to Berlin in 2017 where she studied at the Universität der Künste and participated in the 2018 Rundgang.

Miranda has participated in multiple group shows, including at the Prenzlauer Studio Kunst-Kollektiv and the Agora Collective, as well as a solo show at Das Giftraum in June 2019. Miranda’s paintings will appear in the 149th edition of New American Paintings as well as in an upcoming group show at Olympia Gallery in New York. She is currently pursuing her MFA at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
